If you are reading this and have two hands to write, two legs to walk with and two eyes to see, you are an incredibly lucky person.
Even before you were born, it was almost a certainty that you shouldn’t exist or even be healthy. The fact that you got to your mother’s egg before the millions of other sperm, is a remarkable achievement. You have already won, the world’s most difficult race. A race more competitive than any Olympic marathon.
No matter our current socio-economic situation, we are all champions.
It therefore bothers me that some people don’t just want to live their lives the way they see fit. We are constantly asking people what we should do.
Once you give the steering wheel of your life to someone else ; you are only a passenger.
If you want to become something that is out of the norm, just go ahead and do it. Even if you do not succeed, the journey will be a fun one.
Think about it, once you are born, you are constrained by the pressure of school, the demands of a job, the stress of having a child, the shackles of a wheelchair.
You have a limited time on earth, till the Grim Reaper knocks on your door.
Live it.
I have wanted to write a controversial book for a very long time now so frequency of posting on this blog will reduce.
The subject for my book is a highly controversial one. I have actually debated within myself whether to do it at all, but I believe it has to be done. No one has ever written about such a subject from the perspective I am writing from.
However, I am incredibly excited because I know that it will be an eye-opener for anyone who reads it and bring hope to whoever flicks through its pages.
It will be available on the kindle ebook store, scribd.com and as a PDF download on this blog. It will probably be free; but if not all proceeds will go to charity.
Take care

We are told to save power, water and not to waste food. Yet, we innovate at an incredible pace and our gadgets mean that we consume electricity almost as a means of necessity. Every year, we are bombarded with the onslaught of ‘…save the children’ advertisements from a third-world country, yet we have so much food that most of it goes to waste.

The funny thing is technology is supposed to make our lives easier but instead it has made us lazier and caused us to lack social skills. When the next generation plays on Xbox all day, instead of going or for fresh air. When we think that socialising means going on Facebook and spending the whole day replacing smiles with likes; laughter with “lol” and human interaction with a chat box. That is when we must ask ourselves whether we are progressing as species or just replacing our lives with something that is actually non-existent.

As a child, running through fields, climbing trees and spreading my arms wide whilst making airplane noises, I imagined that innovation will help us to colonise the moon when the worlds population becomes too large. I hoped that it will cause the wheelchair bound to walk by way of robotic legs that takes the strain of their body weight. That is what I dreamed of growing up…Oh and flying cars.

The worst part is we can never get enough. Every year we must have the latest iPhone, iPad or laptop. Things that we don’t truly need. I am guilty as charged for doing this. Who can blame us when everybody we are made to seem almost inhuman for not having a specific gadget or not being a certain size.
We live in a sad world when people will much rather stare hypnotically at their phones when in the middle of a party. We live in a sad world when people claim to have long-distance relationships with strangers that they have never met. Sorry, but if you have never felt the velvet-like smoothness of your partner’s skin, felt their touch and their warm breath on the nape of your neck, you aren’t in a relationship.
Advancements that were supposed to bring us together, stretch us further apart.
Karma will certainly bite us for killing off animal species that have done us no harm and when we feel the wrath of mother nature, it will leave a mark and it ain’t going to be pretty.
